Something happened to the power supply

We had something go wrong with the power supply to the computer. We had to replace the computer cables and connectors. I am still not exactly sure what happened with the power supply to the computer that we needed to replace the cables and connectors. If we didn't replace the computer cables and connectors we may still have a problem with the power supply. I can't have any problems because I need my computer everyday for work.
